About Mocis texana Morrison, 1875
Mocis texana, commonly known as the Texas mocis, is a moth species belonging to the family Erebidae. This species is distributed across eastern North America, with its range extending from southern Ontario south to Florida, and west from Texas to Minnesota. The wingspan of Mocis texana measures 42 to 50 millimetres, equal to 1.7 to 2.0 inches. Adult moths are active from April through September each year. The larvae of this species feed on plants of the Digitaria genus.
