Size
Mochlus sundevallii typically reaches a snout-to-vent length (SVL) of 6–8 cm (2.4–3.1 in), and can grow to an SVL of almost 9 cm (3.5 in).
Dorsal Coloration
Its dorsal coloration is grayish or light brown, marked with dark brown speckling.
Ventral Coloration
On its ventral side, it is solid cream-colored, with the exception of the underside of the tail, which may show speckling.
Core Distribution
This species occurs naturally in Angola, Botswana, Democratic Republic of Congo, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Somalia, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

The Reptile Database additionally records its presence in the Central African Republic and Sudan, and notes its possible occurrence in South Sudan.
Habitat and Altitude Range
Its preferred natural habitats are shrubland, savanna, and forest, found across an altitude range from sea level up to 2,000 m (6,600 ft).
