Mitreola sessilifolia, commonly called swamp hornpod, is a species of small flowering plant belonging to the genus Mitreola in the family Loganiaceae. This plant is native to the southeastern United States, and its range extends as far west as Arizona. It was previously classified within the genus Cynoctonum. It is categorized as a facultative wetland species (FACW), which means it acts as an indicator species for wetlands, but it can also grow in non-wetland areas. Its flowers are small, white, and funnel-shaped, while its leaves are sessile with rounded bases. Most species in the genus Mitreola have leaves longer than 10mm, and this species has leaves longer than 6mm.
