Minervarya agricola, commonly known as the common Indian cricket frog, is a frog species native to the Indian subcontinent.

Taxonomic History

It was previously misidentified as Minervarya granosa and Zakerana syhadrensis because of its large distribution range, and was only classified as a separate species in 2019.

Geographic Distribution

This is a widespread species across the Indian subcontinent, found in India, Sri Lanka, and Nepal.

Habitat Types

It occupies a broad variety of habitats, ranging from flooded fields and human settlements in the plains to wet hill forests.
