About Microspingus cabanisi (Bonaparte, 1850)

The gray-throated warbling finch, whose scientific name is Microspingus cabanisi, is a bird species that belongs to the family Thraupidae. Its natural habitats include forest borders and woodland, and it occurs in south-eastern Brazil, far eastern Paraguay, far north-eastern Argentina, and Uruguay. This species was previously treated as conspecific with the buff-throated warbling finch; when grouped together, the two were collectively called the red-rumped warbling finch. The South American Classification Committee (SACC) determined there was sufficient evidence to split the two into separate species in 2009.
