Microseris paludosa is a perennial herb that reaches up to 70 centimeters in height, and has a branching stem. Its leaves can grow up to 35 centimeters long, with edges that are smooth, toothed, or lobed. The somewhat hairy inflorescence is held on an erect or curving peduncle. Each flower head holds up to 70 yellow ray florets. The fruit is an achene, with a whitish body a few millimeters long. At the tip of the achene body sits a large pappus composed of 5 to 10 long, bristly scales.
