About Microloma sagittatum (L.) R.Br.

Microloma sagittatum (L.) R.Br. is a thin climbing plant, similar to other species in the Microloma genus. This species can be distinguished by its velvety, slightly arrow-shaped leaves that have slightly downward-curving margins. Its distinctive pink flowers have outward-spreading sepals, and a central, green pointed column. Flowers of this species bloom during winter and spring. This plant is typically found in the far western region of South Africa. It occurs across most of the predominantly winter-rainfall Western Cape Province, and its range also extends into the westernmost portion of the Northern Cape Province.
