About Micrixalus kottigeharensis (Rao, 1937)
Size
Male Micrixalus kottigeharensis reach a snout–vent length of 22–24 mm (0.87–0.94 in), while females grow to 28–33 mm (1.1–1.3 in).
Habitat Preference
This species prefers fast-flowing streams within primary and secondary forests. It is most frequently found in shaded, structurally complex stream habitats, and has a particular association with emergent rocks, riffles, and braided stream sections.
Threats
Micrixalus kottigeharensis is currently threatened by habitat loss.
Distribution
This species is endemic to the central Western Ghats of India.
