About Micranthes nidifica (Greene) Small

Micranthes nidifica, commonly called peak saxifrage, is a plant species belonging to the saxifrage family. It is native to the northwestern United States, where it grows in moist habitats, most often in mountainous regions. It is a perennial herb that grows from a caudex and a network of rhizomes, and produces a basal rosette of leaves. Each leaf can reach up to 10 centimeters in length, with a smooth-edged or minutely toothed blade attached to a thin petiole. The inflorescence grows on a peduncle that reaches up to half a meter tall, and holds clusters of flowers that have white petals.
