Metrosideros perforata, with the accepted scientific name Metrosideros perforata (J.R.Forst. & G.Forst.) A.Rich., is commonly called white rātā, climbing rātā, akatea, or akatorotoro. It is one of twelve Metrosideros species that are endemic to New Zealand. It is also one of three known white-flowering rātā vines; the other two are large white rātā and white rātā. This species has been recorded growing in Hamilton Ecological District, New Zealand, where it occurs alongside understory associate plants including Blechnum discolor, Blechnum filiforme, and Doodia media.
