About Metrosideros diffusa (G.Forst.) Sm.

Metrosideros diffusa is a climbing plant that reaches up to 6 metres (20 feet) in height. It has small, shiny leaves that grow to 2 cm (0.79 inches) or more in length, and most leaves have a rounded tip. This species flowers from mid-spring to early summer, producing white or pale pink flowers. Metrosideros diffusa is not widely cultivated, but it can be purchased from specialist native plant nurseries located within New Zealand. One named cultivar is known: Metrosideros diffusa 'Crystal Showers', which is sold by Blue Mountain Nurseries in Tapanui. This cultivar is a slow-growing groundcover that has white flowers and cream-and-green variegated foliage.
