Meterana vitiosa is a moth species that belongs to the family Noctuidae. It was first described by Arthur Gardiner Butler in 1877, based on specimens collected by Dr Hector and Mr J. D. Enys in the South Island of New Zealand. This species is endemic to New Zealand. It prefers to live in forest and shrubland habitats. Adult moths of this species can be found in flight throughout the entire year.
