About Metalasia pulcherrima Less.

Metalasia pulcherrima Less. is a flowering subshrub belonging to the Asteraceae family. It is endemic to the Eastern Cape and Western Cape of South Africa, where its distribution ranges from the Witteberg to the Langkloof. This species grows in fynbos vegetation. Two accepted infraspecific taxa are recognized for this species: Metalasia pulcherrima f. pallescens (Harv.) P.O.Karis, and Metalasia pulcherrima f. pulcherrima.
