Metalasia fastigiata is a flowering semi-shrub belonging to the Asteraceae family. This species is endemic to South Africa's Western Cape. Its range extends from Calvinia and Nieuwoudtville, southward to Wellington. It is particularly abundant in the Olifants River Mountains and the area around Piketberg. It grows in sandy soil at elevations between 700 and 1100 meters, and is a component of fynbos vegetation.
