About Metalasia compacta Zeyh. ex Sch.Bip.

Metalasia compacta is a flowering subshrub belonging to the Asteraceae family. This species is endemic to the Western Cape of South Africa. Its natural range on the Cape Peninsula extends from Kommetjie to Cape Point. It has been extirpated from the Cape Flats. This plant grows on slopes and plains between 0 and 700 meters in altitude, and it is a component of fynbos vegetation.
