About Memoremea scorpioides (Haenke) A.Otero, Jim.Mejías, Valcárcel & P.Vargas
Memoremea scorpioides is a species of flowering plant in the Boraginaceae family. It is the only species that belongs to the genus Memoremea. This species is native to eastern-central and eastern Europe. In 1789, Thaddäus Haenke first described and named this species Cynoglossum scorpioides. Later, the species was renamed Omphalodes scorpioides. A 2014 phylogenetic study found that this species forms a distinct genetic lineage separate from all other species classified in the genus Omphalodes, so it was reclassified into the newly created genus Memoremea under the new combination name Memoremea scorpioides (Haenke) A.Otero, Jim.Mejías, Valcárcel & P.Vargas.
