Melipotis cellaris, commonly known as the cellar melipotis moth, is a moth species belonging to the family Erebidae. Its documented distribution includes Mexico (specifically Morelos), Colombia, Venezuela, Paraguay, Argentina, Uruguay, the West Indies, and the southern United States. In the southern United States, it has been recorded in Florida, Kansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, and Texas. This species has a wingspan ranging from 35 to 37 mm. In Texas, adult cellar melipotis moths can be seen in flight year round.
