Melicope ternata J.R.Forst. & G.Forst., commonly known as wharangi, is a coastal shrub or small tree in the Rutaceae family native to New Zealand. It has glossy green trifoliate foliage, and can grow into a tree reaching 6 metres in height. This species occurs in coastal areas across New Zealand's main islands, as well as the North, South, Three Kings and Kermadec islands.
