About Melica imperfecta Trin.

Melica imperfecta Trin. is a perennial bunchgrass that reaches a maximum height of 1.2 metres (3.9 ft). It is classified as a bunchgrass because it does not grow rhizomes or corms. Its inflorescence is a narrow or spreading arrangement of green spikelets that contain purple patches. This grass is cultivated in the specialty horticulture trade, and sold as an ornamental grass for natural landscapes, native plant gardens, drought-tolerant water-conserving gardens, and habitat gardens.
