About Melasphaerula graminea (L.f.) Ker Gawl.

Melasphaerula is a genus of flowering plants in the Iridaceae family, first formally described as a genus in 1803. Only one species in this genus is currently recognized: Melasphaerula graminea, which is native to Namibia and Cape Province, South Africa. The genus name comes from Greek terms: melas meaning "black", and sphaerulos meaning "small sphere". Some botanical sources do not recognize the name Melasphaerula graminea, and instead use the name Melasphaerula parviflora for this species.
