Mecyna flavalis is a moth species belonging to the Crambidae family. This species was first described by Michael Denis and Ignaz Schiffermüller in 1775. Its range extends from most of Europe — with the exception of Ireland, Norway, Portugal, Slovenia, and Ukraine — east to Japan. The wingspan of adult Mecyna flavalis ranges from 25 to 29 mm. Adults of this species are active in flight from July to August. The larvae of Mecyna flavalis feed on the plants Galium mollugo, Artemisia campestris, Ballota, Reseda, and Urtica urens.
