Mechanitis polymnia, commonly known as the orange-spotted tiger clearwing or the disturbed tigerwing, is a butterfly species belonging to the family Nymphalidae. Its scientific name is Mechanitis polymnia, originally described by Linnaeus in 1758. This butterfly can be found in the geographic range stretching from Mexico to the Amazon rainforest. The wingspan of adult individuals measures between 65 and 75 millimeters, which is equal to 2.6 to 3.0 inches. The larval caterpillars of this species feed on plants from the Solanum genus.
