Massonia bifolia (Jacq.) J.C.Manning & Goldblatt is a geophyte species that belongs to the genus Massonia. This species is native to southern Namibia and the western Cape Provinces of South Africa. Its distribution ranges from southern Namibia southward to the Western Cape. It grows most commonly in rock outcrops, specifically in pockets of sheltered rocky terrain. These sites stay locally moist during the winter growing season, and provide consistent shade and protection from the sun year-round.
