About Marumba sperchius Ménétriés, 1857

Marumba sperchius Ménétriés, 1857 has a wingspan ranging from 88 to 138 mm. It resembles Marumba juvencus, but differs in that the lines on its forewing and the base color of its hindwing are more reddish. Additionally, the lines positioned on either side of its faint discal spot hardly converge. Its distribution extends from north-western and north-eastern India, and south-western, central, and eastern China, through the southern Russian Far East, North Korea, South Korea, and Japan. It can also be found on Sumatra and Borneo.
