About Marimatha nigrofimbria Guenée, 1852

Marimatha nigrofimbria, commonly known as the black-bordered lemon moth, is a moth species belonging to the family Noctuidae. It was first formally described by Achille Guenée in 1852. This species occurs in North America, across areas east of the Rocky Mountains, as well as in the states of Arizona and California. The wingspan of adult black-bordered lemon moths measures 18–22 mm, which equals 0.71–0.87 inches. In the northern portion of the species' range, adults are active in flight from May through September; in the southern portion of the range, adults are active from March through November. The larvae of this moth feed on Digitaria ischaemum and Ipomoea sagittata.
