Manduca hannibal Cramer, 1779 has a wingspan measuring 99–114 mm. On the upperside of its hindwing, there is a whitish subbasal band. A generally rather large dirty white patch sits within the black central band of the hindwing, near the anal angle. This species is distributed from Mexico, Belize, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica south to Suriname, Venezuela, Ecuador, Brazil, Bolivia, and north-eastern Argentina.
