Manduca brontes is a moth species that belongs to the Sphingidae family. It was first formally described by Dru Drury in 1773. This species has been recorded from Jamaica, Cuba, Haiti, Puerto Rico, the Cayman Islands, the Dominican Republic, and Suriname. In Florida, adult moths of this species are in flight from April to June each year. Recorded host plants for the larvae of Manduca brontes include multiple Tecoma species (specifically Tecoma stans), as well as Fraxinus americana, Fraxinus excelsior, and Fraxinus platycarpa.
