Mammillaria parkinsonii C.Ehrenb., commonly called the owl-eye pincushion or owl-eye cactus, is a flowering cactus species in the family Cactaceae. This species is endemic to Queretaro, Mexico. It is currently classified as Endangered. Threats contributing to this status include its limited distribution (with an extent of occurrence of approximately 2,500 km2), severe habitat fragmentation, ongoing population decline from illegal collection, and continuing habitat degradation across its entire range. Clarifying the taxonomic status of Mammillaria parkinsonii is identified as a key research priority. This species was first formally described by Ehrenberg in 1840, published in Linnaea volume 14, page 375.
