Mammillaria lasiacantha is a cactus species belonging to the subfamily Cactoideae. Its common names include lacespine nipple cactus, small pincushion cactus, and biznaga de espinas pubescentes in Spanish. This is a wide-ranging species. It is found in the Mexican states of Coahuila, Durango, Chihuahua, Nuevo León, San Luis Potosí, Sonora, and Zacatecas, as well as the U.S. states of Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas. It grows in desert habitats, on limestone soils of hills and tablelands, at elevations between 700 and 2,400 metres, which is 2,300 to 7,900 feet.
