Mammillaria lasiacantha Engelm. is a cactus species belonging to the subfamily Cactoideae. Its common names include lacespine nipple cactus, small pincushion cactus, and biznaga de espinas pubescentes in Spanish. This is a wide-ranging species that is found in the Mexican states of Coahuila, Durango, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas in the United States. It has additionally been reported from the Mexican states of Chihuahua, Nuevo León, San Luis Potosí, Sonora, and Zacatecas. This cactus grows on limestone soils of hills and tablelands located in desert habitats, at elevations between 700 and 2,400 metres, or 2,300 and 7,900 feet.
