About Malpighia glabra L.

Malpighia glabra, commonly known as wild crapemyrtle, is a tropical fruit-bearing shrub or small tree belonging to the plant family Malpighiaceae. This species is frequently confused with its close relative M. emarginata, a cultivated crop tree. Unlike M. emarginata, Malpighia glabra produces small, flavorless fruit and has a distinctly different flower structure.
