Malaxis monophyllos var. brachypoda is a variety of Malaxis monophyllos, commonly known as white adder's mouth. Malaxis monophyllos is a terrestrial orchid species. It is widely distributed across large parts of Europe, including locations such as Germany, Italy, Poland, Scandinavia, and Ukraine; across large parts of Asia, including locations such as China, Japan, Russia, Nepal, and the Philippines; and across much of southern Canada. In the United States, it grows mainly in southern Alaska, New England, and the Great Lakes region, with isolated populations recorded from Colorado and California.
