About Maerua racemulosa (A.DC.) Gilg & Gilg-Ben.

Maerua racemulosa is a plant species that belongs to the Capparaceae family. It is almost endemic to the coastal regions of South Africa, where it grows in shady forest understories and valley bushveld. This species takes the form of a shrub or small tree. Most of its leaves are simple, with smooth, entire margins. It produces a large number of flowers during mid-winter. Each flower has many white filaments and a purple style, and it does not have any petals. Round fruits develop from August to October. When ripe, these fruits are yellow and measure 1 centimeter in diameter. It acts as a food plant for some species of Colotis butterfly.
