Maclura tricuspidata Carrière is a tree that can grow up to 6 meters tall. Tanzhe Temple, located west of Beijing, China, is named after this tree. This species has a range of recorded uses. Its fruit is edible, and can also be processed to make wine. In China, the tree's leaves are used as food for silkworms. Its bark is used to produce paper and a reddish-yellow dye, while its roots are used for medicinal purposes. Its wood is considered valuable, and is used to construct bows.
