About Lythria cruentaria sanguinaria (Duponchel, 1842)
Lythria cruentaria is a moth species belonging to the Geometridae family. This species occurs in Europe. The forewings of this moth measure between 9 and 13 millimeters in length. Adult moths produce two or three generations annually, and their flight period runs from the end of April to the end of September. The species' caterpillars feed on sorrel and sheep's sorrel. The subspecies treated here is Lythria cruentaria sanguinaria (Duponchel, 1842).
