About Lysimachia hybrida Michx.

Lysimachia hybrida Michx., commonly called Mississippi loosestrife or lowland yellow loosestrife, is a plant species that is widespread across most of the United States and Canada. It is not found in western deserts, or in the Arctic and sub-Arctic regions of the far north. This species prefers moist growing locations, including marshes, swamps, wet meadows, and stream banks. Lysimachia hybrida is a perennial herb that grows to a maximum height of 100 cm (40 inches), and spreads via underground rhizomes. Its leaves are narrowly lanceolate or linear, and can grow up to 18 cm (7.2 inches) long. It produces yellow flowers, most of which grow in the axils of its leaves.
