About Lysiloma divaricatum (Jacq.) J.F.Macbr.
Lysiloma divaricatum (Jacq.) J.F.Macbr. is most commonly a small to medium-sized, densely branched tree with an open spreading crown that reaches a maximum height of 15 meters. Its distribution extends from northern Mexico to Costa Rica. It grows in tropical and subtropical dry deciduous forest and mixed pine forest, and can occasionally be found in desert scrub that includes cactus. It typically occurs at elevations from sea level up to 1100 meters, and can occasionally grow as high as 1750 meters. It is often found growing on slopes, in volcanic and sandy clay soils. In Baja California, it is commonly associated with the species Caesalpinia pannosa. In other parts of its range, it is often found growing alongside other dry forest species including Chloroleucon mangense, Leucaena macrophylla, Senna mollissima, and species from the genera Acacia, Parkinsonia, Calycophyllum, Mimosa, Myrospermum, and the family Burseraceae.
