About Lymire edwardsii Grote, 1881
This species, Lymire edwardsii Grote, 1881, has a wingspan measuring 35 to 40 millimeters. Its wings are colored bluish gray. Adult individuals of this species can be seen in flight throughout the entire year. In terms of behaviour and ecology, the larvae feed on a range of Ficus species. This includes Ficus pedunculata, Ficus altissima, Ficus aurea, Ficus auriculata, Ficus benghalensis, Ficus benjamina, Ficus continifolia, Ficus elastica, Ficus lyrata, Ficus retusa, and Ficus rubiginosa. Larvae feed along leaf margins or create holes in the leaves of these host plants. When larvae are fully grown, they are pale yellow with four white stripes, and a reddish orange and white head. Pupation occurs on a variety of non-host plants.
