About Lymantria subrosea

Lymantria subrosea is a moth species that belongs to the Erebidae family. It was first formally described by Francis Walker in 1855. This moth's distribution ranges from Sri Lanka to China, and also covers Sundaland, the Philippines, Sulawesi, Seram, and the Lesser Sunda Islands extending to Timor. The population of this moth found on Sumatra is classified as a separate subspecies, Lymantria subrosea singapura. The caterpillar stage of Lymantria subrosea is a known pest that affects Terminalia cala and Shorea robusta.
