About Lycopodium volubile Sw., 1806

Pseudodiphasium is a monophyletic lycophyte genus in the family Lycopodiaceae, which contains only one species: Pseudodiphasium volubile. This species, also known under the scientific synonym Lycopodium volubile Sw., 1806, is native to the region extending from Peninsular Malaysia to Queensland, Australia, and has been introduced into Ecuador. According to the Pteridophyte Phylogeny Group 2016 classification (PPG I), the genus Pseudodiphasium is placed in the subfamily Lycopodioideae. Some taxonomic sources do not recognize this separate genus, and instead sink it into the larger genus Lycopodium.
