About Lycophotia phyllophora Grote, 1874

Lycophotia phyllophora, commonly known as the lycophotia moth, is a moth species belonging to the family Noctuidae. This species is distributed across southern and central Canada, ranging from New Brunswick and Nova Scotia to western Ontario. In the northern United States, it occurs from Maine to Minnesota, extending south to Ohio and along the Appalachian Mountains to western North Carolina. The wingspan of adult Lycophotia phyllophora is approximately 35 millimeters. Adult moths are active in flight from June through August. The larvae of this species feed on the leaves of Alnus, Viburnum, Betula, Vaccinium, Prunus, Spiraea, and Salix plants.
