About Luthrodes galba

Scientific name: Luthrodes galba (formerly Z. galba Led., figured as 77 k). In both sexes, the upper side of the wings is almost exactly identical to that of Luthrodes lysimon. The underside of the wings strongly resembles species of the Azanus genus, particularly in the arrangement and development of its black spots. The underside of the forewing also bears some similarity to Chilades trochylus, and Luthrodes galba matches this species in size. Luthrodes galba can very easily be separated from Chilades trochylus by the absence of red and blue submarginal dots. This species is found in Syria, and is also reported to occur in Egypt; it has been specifically recorded from Ismailia, on the Suez Canal.
