About Lupinus subcarnosus Hook.

Lupinus subcarnosus Hook., commonly known as sandy land bluebonnet or Texas bluebonnet, is a species of flowering plant belonging to the family Fabaceae. This species is native to southeastern Texas and northeastern Mexico. It is a winter annual that grows up to 40 cm (16 in) tall, and prefers deep sandy soils. Alongside other related lupine species that are also called bluebonnets, Lupinus subcarnosus is recognized as the state flower of Texas.
