About Lupinus longifolius (S.Watson) Abrams

Lupinus longifolius is an upright, bushy shrub that can grow up to around 1.5 meters tall at maximum. Its leaves are palmate, each divided into 5 to 10 individual leaflets that can reach up to 6 centimeters in length. The above-ground herbage of the plant is green or gray-green in color, and is covered in short, silvery hairs. Its inflorescence is a long, narrow raceme that holds many flowers; each individual flower measures between 1 and 2 centimeters long. Flowers are purple or blue, and sometimes have a whitish patch on their banner. The fruit it produces is a dark-colored, hairy legume pod that holds between 6 and 8 seeds.
