Luehea seemannii Planch. & Triana is a widespread flowering plant species belonging to the family Malvaceae. It is native to southern Mexico, Central America, Colombia, and Venezuela, and has been introduced to Puerto Rico. This species is a large canopy tree that grows in tropical and subtropical forests, and its conservation status has been assessed as Least Concern. A study conducted in the Panama Canal Zone found that Luehea seemannii hosts 945 species of beetles.
