About Lobophora halterata (Hufnagel, 1767)
Scientific name: Lobophora halterata (Hufnagel, 1767). This species has a wingspan of 20–25 mm, and its forewings measure 12–15 mm in length. The forewing is whitish with a very faint brown tinge, at minimum in its central area. It features a narrow dark subbasal band, closely followed by a noticeably broader dark band; the pale line dividing these two bands is angled anteriorly. The lines marking the median area of the forewing are indistinct and dentate. The hindwing is white, almost always with a narrow greyer distal border, and sometimes has one or two unclear lines in its outer half. The underside of the forewing is very weakly marked, but the markings are distributed more uniformly across the surface; the hindwing has a very distinct discal dot. This species varies in the intensity of its markings. The caterpillar is green, darker on its lower surface and between its body segments. The body is wrinkled, and it bears two small points on its final segment. Its most distinct markings are two yellow lines running along its back. The caterpillar's head is notched. The pupa is reddish brown, and its cremaster is shaped like a small anchor.
