About Lobelia rhynchopetalum Hemsl.
Lobelia rhynchopetalum, commonly known as giant lobelia, is a flowering plant belonging to the Campanulaceae family. This species is endemic to Ethiopia, where it grows in the Afroalpine climate of the Semien Mountains and Bale Mountains National Park. Recent studies indicate that Lobelia rhynchopetalum is threatened by climate change. It is a pachycaulous "palmoid" plant that can reach a total height of up to 6.5 meters (21 feet), with up to 3.5 meters (11 feet) of that height consisting of its violet-flowered inflorescence.
