Dorsal Coloration

The back of this amphibian species is yellowish green, covered in dark speckled spots.

The hidden surfaces of its thighs are orange, marked with a purple-brown stripe.

Its belly is grainy in texture and white in color.

Like other species in the genus Litoria, Litoria cooloolensis has horizontal irises.

Habitat Preferences

This species lives in sandy coastal and island freshwater lakes, as well as wallum creeks, and prefers habitats with dense reed beds.

Threats

It is threatened by water extraction, water pollution, and trampling of reed beds.

Known Distribution

It can be found in Great Sandy National Park.
