About Lithostege farinata (Hufnagel, 1767)
Lithostege farinata (Hufnagel, 1767) is a moth belonging to the family Geometridae. It occurs across a wide geographic range: from the Iberian Peninsula through northeastern Germany, eastward through eastern Europe and the Caucasus to western Siberia, and into Central Asia, including the Altai and Tian Shan regions. In the north, its range extends to southern Scandinavia and the Baltic States. In the south, it reaches as far as southern Italy and the Balkan Peninsula. It has also been documented in southeastern Turkey and northwestern Africa, with old historical records of its presence from Israel and Egypt. The wingspan of Lithostege farinata measures 29–33 mm. Most populations produce one generation per year, with adult moths active in flight from the end of May to the beginning of July. The larvae of this species feed on Sisymbrium officinale, Descurainia sophia, Berteroa incana, Sinapis arvensis, Alliaria petiolata, and Raphanus raphanistrum.
