About Listia bainesii (Baker) B.-E.van Wyk & Boatwr.
Listia bainesii, previously classified under the synonym Lotononis bainesii, is a flowering plant species belonging to the legume family Fabaceae. It is native to southern Africa, and has been intentionally introduced as a forage crop to Kenya, New Guinea, eastern Australia, Taiwan, and Fiji. Livestock find this species palatable and readily eat it. It is frost tolerant, able to survive temperatures as low as −6.5 °C (20 °F), and actually grows better when subjected to close grazing.
